ACE LIFE

Accelerating climate efforts and low-carbon investments in Finland

back to full agenda

About

The main objective of ACE LIFE is to accelerate emission reductions foremost in the key focus areas, which are agriculture, heavy duty transport and machinery, and process emissions from small and medium-size industry, as they have largest implementation and funding gaps related to the Medium-term Climate Change Policy Plan of Finland (MTCCPP).

Solutions to be developed in the project include value chains for paludiculture and plant-based proteins, promoting low-emission energy use and energy efficiency measures for heavy vehicle transport and machinery while advancing clean and smart electrification of the industrial production processes of small and medium-sized enterprises. The project supports the implementation of the goals of the Paris Climate Accords and the EU emission reduction commitments in Finland by drawing up proposals and tools for more effective policy measures and by improving the accessibility, effectiveness, coordination and mobilisation of climate funding.

The total budget of 20 million euros, including 12 million euros of EU financial contribution, will be used for implementing significant pilot and demonstration investments in Finnish companies while promoting actions for scaling them.

The ACE project will be implemented between 2024–2030.
